  11. You will find the Original (untouched) Parnet files in the ParnetFiles
  12. drawer.
  13.  
  14. The install files etc. in this drawer, are intended primarily for users
  15. who have a CD Drive that is not directly connected to their Amiga. The
  16. CDTV is the prime example here, the only way Amiga users that have a CDTV
  17. can access the CDTV's CD drive from their normal Amiga is by using Parnet.

  19. Parnet can be a little complicated to set up unless you have used it
  20. before and for this reason we have set up these four icons (and their
  21. associated IconX scripts to make life a little easier for you. After using
  22. these 4 files you should have your CDTV (or whatever) and your Amiga
  23. taking to each other quite happily?!

  30. 1.  Make sure you have the correct cable connected. You will find
  31.     documentation on how to make up the cable in the Parnet files drawer.

  33. 2.  Format a floppy disk and call it PARNET
  34.  
  35. 3.  Put the disk in your CDTV's floppy drive.
  36.  
  37. 4.  Double click on the INSTALL FILES icon that's called
  38.     "CD-Files>>Floppy" This will copy all the files needed to install onto
  39.     your Amiga system from the CD to your new PARNET disk.
  40.  
  41. 5.  Once it has finished, take the floppy disk out of the floppy drive and
  42.     put it into any floppy drive of your Amiga system.
  43.  
  44. 6.  Open the disk icon up and you will find two files. The only one you
  45.     need to be concerned about is the INSTALL FILES icon called
  46.     "Files>>System" 
  47.  
  48. 7.  Make sure you have about 50k of free space on your boot drive. If your
  49.     boot drive is a Hard drive you shouldn't really have a problem but if
  50.     your system normally boots from a floppy you may need to clear space
  51.     on it!

  53. 8.  Double click on the "Files>>System" icon. This will copy all the
  54.     files from the floppy disk to your system. Once it has finished doing
  55.     it's funky stuff you should find an icon called "System>>EMC_Phase2"
  56.     in the root directory of you boot drive, partition or floppy.

  58. 9.  Now we're ready for action!
  59.  
  60. 10. Double click on the NETWORK icon called "System>>EMC_Phase2" that's
  61.     located in the root directory of your system's boot drive, partition
  62.     or floppy. This will set up the network from your System's side.

  64. 11. Then double click on the NETWORK icon called "EMC_Phase2>>System"
  65.     which is located in this drawer on the EMC_Phase2 CD disk. This will
  66.     set up the network on the CDTV side.

  68. 12. With any luck, everything should be communicating now!
